Good to know before you apply
- General PTE Academic table: overall 58; listening 50, reading 50, writing 51, speaking 54 for tests taken from August 2026.
- The test must be taken within two years of application; results from multiple tests are not combined.
- Courses with higher English requirements are not covered by the general table; Curtin names PTE Academic and PTE Academic UKVI as accepted there but gives scores on course pages or a downloadable chart.
What to practise for Curtin
The highest single-skill minimum on this page is 54 in Speaking, set by the Bachelor's row. Practise that first if it is also near your weakest score.
Which PTE test, and how long a score lasts
| PTE Academic | Accepted |
|---|---|
| PTE Academic UKVI | Not stated on the pages we checked |
| PTE Core | Not stated on the pages we checked |
| Score validity noted | 2 years |
General table lists PTE Academic for undergraduate, postgraduate and research courses. The higher-requirement course page names PTE Academic and PTE Academic UKVI as accepted tests for those courses but gives no PTE scores (it points to a downloadable chart and a separate nursing document). UKVI not named on the general table, so null. No PTE Academic Online or score-sending information found.
Pearson's own rules on validity are in our PTE score validity guide. Compare tests in PTE Academic vs Core vs UKVI.
